Almost April and still skiing (March 28)

Bring your skis out for a spring fling on freshly groomed trails through WCP's campground location . . . best starting point would be the NCC parking lot on Corkstown Rd (P3).  Trails 4 (hydro line lookout) and 5 (down & up the steeper sides of the ridge) could not be groomed due to exposed rocks and icy hills, but the network of campground roads are primed for fast skate skiing.  Practice your glide and enjoy the sun! Lots of Snow Left at the end of March

Grooming is scheduled again Saturday morning, March 28. Last full grooming was March 22. Smoothed out the surface for fast skate-ski conditions. Existing tracks were avoided, so they remain along the majority of trail sections where they had been set last week – tracks are icy, due to the thaw/freeze cycles, so be careful and bring klister. WCP – Grooming March 14

With the exception of trail 5 and the trail to the hydro line, all main skate trails were renovated and are in good condition with a firm base.   Trails had significant ruts due to be skied on when the base was very soft; this doubles the grooming time.  We can extend the season by staying off the trails if your skis are sinking several centimetres; wait until it gets colder.  Be cautious if using trail 5 as it is rutted and there are exposed rocks.
