Pick-Up your Kanata Nordic Season Passes 

All Kanata Nordic members get a season pass for the 2015/16 season as part of their membership. If you weren't able to pick up your 2015/16 Kanata Nordic Ski pass please contact info@kanatanordic.ca to arrange pick up.  This season all registered members aged 13+ will receive a season ski pass and should have it visible when skiing our trails at Wesley Clover Parks (WCParks). Non-members are welcome to ski the trails by buying a day pass at the trailhead.  More

Volunteer to help at the Kanata Nordic Pretzel Sprint Race

The 2016 Kanata Nordic Pretzel Sprint Race is scheduled for Sunday January 17 2016. There are many jobs and tasks for which we need Volunteers in order to make this event a success. We need volunteers for Race Day and Pre Race Day roles and tasks. Parking for Saturday Lessons

WCParks has created a Third parking area for KN members to use on saturday afternoons, so that the original main parking area can be used by WCP staff and riders only. Bunnies should use the THIRD parking entrance (second on the left), so that they have the shortest walk to the protected bunny area. Pilot Project with Mush Larose to introduce skijoring to the KN trails

On Wednesday evenings, starting January 6, Kanata Nordic and the Mush Larose dogsled club are kicking off a pilot project to introduce skijoring to the Kanata Nordic trails. Skijoring is a sport that combines cross-country skiing with dogsledding. A team of 1 or 2 dogs is harnessed to a skier. A small group of Mush Larose members have joined Kanata Nordic to gain access to a new groomed trail system for training. Current Trail Conditions

Trails are groomed 3 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. More

Jan 1 Grooming

TRAIL 2 - Our access from P3 to the Campground trails ( Trails 3-12) is open for backcountry skiing but not groomed as the pond is not yet frozen. PLEASE WALK AROUND THE POND. Trails 100-107 are groomed with trackset. There are some wet areas on 106 and the West section of 101. The sprint course is skate groomed. Trans Canada Trail is groomed and trackset. Dec. 29 – Snow Finally! WCParks open for skiing

At 401 Corkstown, all trails rolled at least twice, sometimes 3 times. TCT rolled once. Training area west of WCParks parking rolled once. Training area between lit ring and entrance road rolled once. JR/BR trails rolled at least twice. Rolled trails are packed but a bit uneven in places, good for both skating and classic, we will follow up with the groomer shortly.
