The Ontario high school nordic ski championships were held in Huntsville on February 23rd adn 24th in Huntsville. A high percentage of eligible Kanata Racers and Track Attack skiers participated in qualifying racaes through the Eastern Ontario Secondary School, and National Capital Secondary School Athletics Association with some excellent results and personal bests. For many this was their first year of XC skiing and their first ever XC racing experience.

The event will take place at the Y Bonnenfant Centre, with the potluck in the Vail building (the largest Y building, straight ahead of the 2nd Line Road parking lot). It will run from 6:30 - 9:30 pm. February 11, 2012 - Silver Spoon - Deep River
With the Silver Spoon sandwiched between the NCSSAA and EOSSAA high school qualifier races only a small KN group participated in this year's Silver Spoon while the others stayed home for some low intensity training. 1. Parking - There are 2 parking areas open, the inner lot and the main lot. To get to the inner lot drive through the gate past the outer lot and turn left. We encourage families with small children to park in the inner lot as there will be less traffic there.
2. Overflow parking - If both lots are full, people can park on the road but we would encourage them to park PAST (north of) the entry to the main parking lot to avoid fast moving cars coming from the turn. If members without children ...
