The 2025 Corkstown Classic – a Success!

On February 9th, Kanata Nordic hosted the 3rd Annual Corkstown Classic at our 401 Corkstown trail located at the Wesley Clover Equestrian Park.

Our race director, Andy Weekes, was all smiles this year as ski conditions were perfect. We were proud to host nearly 270 athletes, their families, coaches, and supporters on our trails this past Sunday and are thrilled that our classic race is building momentum in the community! Participants ranged from eight to 50-year-olds, with every skill level able to participate. Local clubs like Nakkertok, Chelsea Nordic, Shinouk, and Kanata Nordic were all represented, as well as a club from Canmore, Alberta.

The event showcased incredible sportsmanship and enthusiasm, with athletes giving their all across the various race categories. It was also heartwarming to see the community come together, creating a supportive and fun atmosphere for everyone involved.

As we reflect on the success of this year’s Corkstown Classic, we look forward to continuing to grow this event in the future, welcoming even more participants, families, and spectators to share in the joy of cross-country skiing. We’re already excited to start planning for next year’s race—see you all on the trails!

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your incredible support in making the Corkstown Classic such a success. We were proud to host nearly 270 athletes, their families, coaches, and supporters on our trails this past Sunday. Thanks to you, our volunteers, everyone received the support they needed—from well groomed trails, registration and timing to cheering and course management. The smooth execution of this event is a true testament to your dedication and hard work.

This year, over 75 volunteers gave their time, energy, and talents to help create a vibrant and welcoming community at our club. Events like this wouldn’t be possible without your efforts, and we are so grateful for each of you!
